Behind the scenes with Voice Actor-Musician Adrian Rosen
For Adrian Rosen, creativity has always been the defining part of his life. From performing with Stevie Wonder, Seth MacFarlane and The Eagles, to recording with Sir Elton John on the soundtrack for Disney’s The Lion King, Adrian, is one of those in-demand talents who always brings professionalism, passion and precision to every project he collaborates on.
We sat down with Adrian to discuss his careers, what he’s working on now as both a musician and Voice Over artist, along with his insights and secrets on how he continues to stay at the top of his game in this highly competitive business.
STUDIO
As voiceover studios go, mine is Broadcast-Quality and super-comfy. Large, soundproofed windows fill the space with natural light and a view of old growth maple and eucalyptus trees. My go-to mics are the Sennheiser MKH 416 and the Neumann TLM 103 delivering both clarity and warmth.
Next in the recording chain are the Focusrite Red 1 Quad Mic Pre and the Aphex 661 Expressor, both standard-bearers in professional studio-quality recording. For remote sessions, I use Source Connect Standard to insure problem-free remote connections.
I record on the latest Mac computers into Twisted Wave with Apogee converters using Waves Plug-Ins to deliver that rich, warm sound of vintage gear. Monitors by Yamaha and KRK along with a Nuova Simonelli Espresso machine round out my studio, making it the ideal place to record Broadcast-Quality voiceovers.
